About this event
Prerequisites: STAR Puppy or dogs over the age of 11 months old start of class.
Steps to CGC follows our STAR Puppy class. We will add new skills to your dog’s tool box and prepare you for the Canine Good Citizen class.
We will focus on skills learned in other classes and build on those skills with added duration and distance with distractions.
Skills will be:
Loose leash walking
Sit-stays
Down-stays
Come when called
Greet a stranger
It’s Yer Choice games for leave-it and impulse control
Distance Stays
Settle with calmness
Name equals attention
Body handling (grooming)
Drop-it and play.
Separation out of sight for 1 minute
Collar grab
Sit politely for petting
