Events - Event View

Prerequisites: You have taken Competition Building Blocks Level 1 or have prior experience trialing a dog in Obedience or Rally.

In this 6-week class you will review, refine and build upon the skills learned the previous weeks. Skills needed for Competition Obedience and Rally will be practiced. This class does not work on the complete exercises but the foundation needed to perform the exercises. 

Be ready to work your dog during the entire class.  Lessons will be adaptable to your dog’s level. 

For this class dogs should be under the handler's control and non-aggressive. Handlers must be experienced competitors or taken Competition Building Blocks Level 1.

The objectives of this class level shall be: 

To teach the dog and handler to have fun doing obedience 

To use play as a release/ motivator

To learn or review basic positions with attention (sit, down, stand)

We will be laying the foundation for attention during:

Heeling

Recall

Stand/Sit for exam

Drop on recall

Retrieve on the flat

Command Discrimination

Directed Retrieve

Stays

and Finishes
