DO NOT BRING A DOG unless it is running in the trial. When not running your dog needs to be kept in your car.
About this event
We are in need of volunteers Sunday, December 14 7:00 AM--2:00 PM to help with releasing and catching dogs, checkin table, keeping lines organized along with other jobs. We will need volunteers each day Friday-Sunday. We would appreciate your help any or all days you can help. Make sure to register separately for each day you can help. Volunteer orientation begins each day at 7:00 AM.
Volunteers get to run their dogs first, so it's in your dog's best interest for you to volunteer. If you'd like to run your dog on the 100 yard course, you need to register for a FastCat Fun Run or make it an official AKC FastCat competition by registering your dog through AKC before you register for the trial.
Dogs don't need any training for this activity. They just chase a lure down the track. You can practice with your dog ahead of time by having him chase a toy around your yard, by using a flirt pole to build prey drive, or get fancy and use a string to connect a potty bag to a racecar and have your dog chase the "lure" around your yard. You want a good recall, so practice that before hand. begins at 7:00
