About this event

We are offering you an inexpensive way to make your own training platforms out of our old, blue floor mats.  Platforms can be used for paw targets, training a proper sit or down, fronts and recalls, heel positions, along with other uses.  Platforms can cost  upwards to more than $100 and you are going to have this opportunity to make yours for $10.  We have the mats and will help with cutting.  Bring your own solid color WIDE duct tape or fancy, wide duct tape if you want to make yours cutesy.  You will need to MEASURE YOUR DOG and bring these measurements to the workshop to create a platform to fit your dog.

Platform for a down
--have your dog lay on the floor (picture him in a rectangle), measure the widest part of your dog and add 2 inches (1 inch for each side), measure the length of your dog as he is laying down and add 2 inches--
bring this length and width measurement for a platform that your dog can practice heel position, down, etc.

Platform for a sit--have your dog in a sit and measure as above--measure the widest part of your dog and add 2 inches, measure the length of your dog as he is sitting and add 2 inches--bring this length and width measurementto make a platform for your dog to practice perfect sits, etc.

Paw target
--while your dog is standing measure from outside his front paw to outside the other front paw and add 2 inches. This will be your length.  Measure your dog's paw from front to back and add 2 inches.  This will be your width.
Bring this length and width measurement if you want to make a paw/foot target for your dog to train proper position.

BRING your measurements and your fancy, wide duct tape, NOT YOUR DOGS!
