What is this?
When communicating with your dog you want to Keep It Simple. Keep your requests short, too the point, and consistent. In Basic Training Pt 1 we picked out the essential behaviors for the development of a good dog. We gave that behavior a one word command and defined it. When we communicate with each other we use a variety of words for the same thing because we speak in sentences. The sentence helps describe what we want. This does not work as well when communicating with our dogs.
In Basic Training Pt 2 we will be building on the vocabulary you worked on in Pt 1.
The following list contains the vocabulary you will be working on in Pt 2
Take it: You hand something to your dog and the dog takes it in its mouth and holds it until you give the next command.
Go: The dog moves forward in the direction you are facing.
Give: The dog places in your had what is in its mouth.
Stand: The dog stand on all four feet from its current position.
Front: The dog moves into the position directly in front and facing you.
Perch: Dog places its front two feet on a raised object
Table: Dog places all four feet on a raised object
