Payment In Full In Advance Only
Handlers may bring more than one dog but may only work one dog per session. All dogs must be crated and quiet unless working. Only one dog will be working at a time (and no dogs out of crates while another dog is working).
We require a minimum of 8 registered students to have this class.
Students must bring or email proof of rabies and DHLPP or DHPP shot records for EACH class they are enrolled in. Females in heat must wear appropriate diaper/panties and stay separated from other dogs–can be asked to leave if this is too disruptive. Please contact the class instructor by email if you have any questions.

This 2-day workshop is for Upper-level scent work teams and is presented by Judge Laurie Schlossnagle.  See bio below.

Day 1

9 – 9:30 a.m. Introductions and general information

9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Session 1 – Clearing Spaces, self-timing

11:00 – 11:15 a.m. Break

11:15– 12:45 p.m. Session 2 – How many hides? (Excellent Interiors)

12:45 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Session 3 – Blank spaces (Master Interiors)

Day 2

9 – 9:30 a.m. Summarizing Day 1, questions, observations

9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Session 1 – Keeping Track of Found Hides (Master Containers and Buried)

11:00 – 11:15 a.m. Break

11:15– 12:45 p.m. Session 2 – Keeping Track of Found Hides and Self-Timing (Master Containers and Buried and Detective)

12:45 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Session 3 – Taking the leap into Detective searches

Laurie Schlossnagle KPA CTP, CCUI, CSAT, CBCC-KA has been a professional dog training instructor and coach and canine behavior consultant for 23 years and has been involved in the dog sport of scentwork for 15 years. Laurie is involved as a competitor, coach, and judge in a variety of dog sports and dog sport venues including Scentwork, Rally, and Obedience in AKC, C-WAGS, UKC, and WCRL. She is a licensed judge for AKC Scentwork, C-WAGS (all sports, all levels), UKC Scentwork, and WCRL Rally and is a Tester/Observer for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. 

Laurie has five dogs -- Dolly (Beagle mix) is almost 15 years old and is retired from Scentwork, Rally, Obedience, and therapy dog work. Blitz (Aussie mix) just turned 12 and prior to his retirement, he enjoyed Rally and dabbling in Freestyle and Tracking. Emme (Beagle) is 8 years old and competes in Scentwork (Master/Detective) and Rally and also enjoys doing therapy dog work. Bell (Greater Swiss Mountain Dog) is 5 years old and while therapy dog work is her true calling, she also competes in Scentwork (Advanced), Rally, and Obedience. Shellbow (Windsprite) is the puppy and is still figuring out what she loves to do!
